A Month in the Life… Bookmarks

It has been an interesting day since before it started.

Anything that happens before my coffee is before it started.

I had Almond Joy Delight creamer on my mind yesterday, because I had told you about it, and I knew I was on my last few drops.

So after a pretty arduous afternoon of rearranging at the gallery, I made sure to go to the market to get some. Of course, I ended up getting a lot of other stuff too.

I left the bags on the kitchen counter and Mark put the stuff away.

At 5:30 this morning, I tore the refrigerator apart searching for my creamer. Nowhere!

I found the empty grocery bag and the receipt, and it was on there plain as day. But NOW, at 5:30 in the morning, when I had a day to start, it was nowhere!

I searched the car – under the seats and all. No creamer to be found.

I looked in the microwave (d0 you ever open that door instead of the refrigerator door and put things in there? I do.) But it wasn’t there or in the pantry or the dish cupboard or . . . you get the picture.

I had to face the terrible truth. The checkout guy did not put my creamer in my bag! Nooooooooo . . .

Our market opens at 6, but I can’t go there with bed hair!!!

I tried adding milk and sugar to my cup of coffee – yuck. I’m spoiled.

I got out the hairbrush and tried to tame my hair (if you sleep on a memory foam pillow, you know how you can look like one of those troll dolls in the morning?) My hair had no memory of how it should look, and didn’t even care. My kingdom for a hat! But the only hats I own look goofier than this hair.

So I did it – I went to the market – BEFORE coffee and WITH bed hair!

I took the receipt with me, but once they saw my hair standing on end, they didn’t even want to argue. They just threw some creamer at me. And some conditioner for good measure.

Home again and sip . . .sip . . . sip . . . . aaaah. My hair even felt better. It didn’t look better, but it felt better, and my day began.

What does all this have to do with bookmarks? Nothing at all, but I just thought I would share.

I’ve been making these bookmarks for about three years now – from all kinds of charms and Swarovski crystals, and miscellaneous sparkly stuff. They are the kind that hang from a sort of shepherd’s hook sort of thing, and the dangle hangs down the spine of the book. And looks cool – like book jewelry.

I have always sold them in gift boxes before, but I told you I am into creative displays this year.

So, take a look at this and see if you can tell what I did . . . ignore The Call book which is just for demo.

It’s a box of some kind – right. And I drilled holes in the bottom, and then stood it on end – open.

But here’s the cool part – see how the cover is larger than the box part?

That’s because,  . . .

It’s a BOOK box! Ta-da!

I have seen these at  Michaels and Hobby Lobby and I always liked them, so when I had to come up with a bookmark display, I ran out and got one.

I like.
